Dental Cleanings & Exams
Bi-annual teeth cleanings and checkups are vital to preventing gum disease, detecting oral cancer, and treating cavities before they lead to severe tooth decay and other health complications. By administering digital X-rays, Dr. Boone can get a clearer picture of your oral health and diagnose issues earlier and more accurately. Our goal is to help you or your child develop healthy oral hygiene habits and practice proper brushing and flossing at home.
Dentures ‒ whether partial or complete ‒ require daily brushing with a soft denture toothbrush, denture cream, and cold water. Soaking your dentures overnight in a cleaning solution is also essential to eliminating bacteria and maintaining their moisture, shape, and fit. Should your dentures become warped, stained, scratched, or broken, they may no longer fit and can potentially cause other problems. We encourage all of our patients who wear dentures to have checkups twice a year with Dr. Boone.
Molars have natural grooves and depressions, which make them more susceptible to bacteria buildup and tooth decay. For children especially, it can be difficult to properly brush molars that are harder to reach. Dental sealants are a thin, plastic coating that we apply to the surfaces of premolars and molars to safeguard against food particles, bacteria buildup, and tooth decay.
Gum Disease Treatment
Though daily brushing and flossing are essential, periodontal maintenance can help those patients struggling with the two forms of gum disease, gingivitis and periodontitis. If you are currently experiencing the following symptoms, we encourage you to schedule an appointment 281-482-3331 with our dentist:
- Swollen, red, or tender gums
- Bleeding gums
- Gum recession
- Loose teeth
- Bad breath
- Tooth loss
